HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

 Although volunteer fire brigades had been in action in Marshall since it's founding, the first official record of an organized and regulated Fire Department in Marshall was an ordinance that was passed July 14, 1884. The contents of this ordinance can be read here.

On November 8, 1889. An ordinance establishing a Fire Department of the City of Marshall was passed. This ordinance can be read here.
